Our Story
Welcome to the Legendary Captain's Log House!
We're Caterina and Hugo. We left city life behind, fell in love with surfing and Portugal's stunning coastline, and never looked back.
Alongside Pati, our dog and Captain's official mascot, we've opened our doors to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay just a few minutes' walk from Baleal's best surf spots.
Captain's Log House isn't just a surf house. It's our home — and during your stay, it's yours too.

Our House
Surrounded by a beautiful garden, you'll find a cozy barbecue area where you can relax, prepare delicious meals, and share stories about your surfing and travels adventures. Enjoy breathtaking sea views and sunsets from the terrace as you unwind.
For some extra fun, we have a private skate bowl with a comfortable deck — an ideal spot to soak up the sun and chill out.

The Area
We're on the tombolo — the thin sandbar that ties the island of Baleal to the mainland. Two beaches, one on each side, so there's always a wave somewhere out of the wind. From beginner whitewater to the heavy slabs that draw the world tour every October.
Beyond the surf: cliff walks, the Berlengas archipelago a short boat ride away, the calm waters of Óbidos Lagoon just up the coast, a village rhythm that slows you down by the second day. Sunset is at the end of every road.
